As global demand for palm oil continues to rise and the palm oil sector remains one of Indonesia’s largest foreign exchange contributors, the Indonesian government has strengthened regulations on palm oil plantation governance through various policies. These include Law No. 6 of 2023 on Job Creation, Government Regulation No. 5 of 2021 on Risk-Based Licensing, Minister of Agriculture Regulation No. 15 of 2021, and other relevant regulations. These policies ensure that plantation management adheres to sustainability principles, from integrated licensing processes through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system to risk-based supervision, supporting industry players in compliance and growth.

To deepen the understanding of these regulatory implementations, Bomba Talk hosted a discussion with Mr. Togu Rudianto Saragih, S.H., M.H. (Head of Palm Oil Cultivation Group, Directorate General of Plantations, Legal Drafter at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia). He provided strategic insights on how these regulations support business productivity while ensuring environmental sustainability. This session, held on December 20, 2024, was also attended by Mr. Sufriedi (Director of Bomba Grup), Mr. Noly Hendry (CEO of Bomba Grup’s Agro Industry Subholding), and Ms. Selpina Sembiring (Legal & GovRel Division Head of Bomba Grup), along with Bomba Grup employees at the Head Office and various sites, both onsite and virtually.

Through Bomba Talk, Bomba Grup’s Agro Industry Subholding aims to continuously prioritize sustainable plantation governance as a strategic step toward a better future.
